Firm Beefs Up Food and Beverage Group With Industry Expert Allan Zackler

OAKLAND, Calif., June 27, 2016 – Wendel, Rosen, Black & Dean LLP, the largest law firm in the East Bay representing businesses throughout the region, welcomes richly experienced Food & Beverage lawyer, Allan I. Zackler, as a partner. Zackler, principal and founder of Oakland, Calif.-based Zackler & Associates, and Rebecca Logsdon, who has long worked with Zackler as a legal assistant, joined Wendel Rosen in its Food and Beverage Practice Group on June 1, 2016.

Zackler has more than 40 years of experience in food regulatory, consumer products and corporate law.  He advises advertisers and manufacturers on claims substantiation, product recalls and responses to government and consumer inquires. He has extensive experience working with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Federal Trade Commission (FTC), state attorneys general, district attorneys and others. Zackler also represents clients in contract negotiations, business formations and finance, distribution agreements, buy-sell agreements, technology licensing and general commercial transactions. Before founding his own firm, Zackler served for 10 years as vice president and general counsel for Foremost Dairies, Inc., a $700 million per year processor of food products, and as senior counsel for McKesson Corporation.

Zackler is a member of the State Bar of California. He earned his J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law where he was Senior Editor of the Law Review (1972) and his B.A., cum laude, from the University of Illinois (1968).

With more than 25 years of legal assistant and administration experience, Logsdon prepares trademark filings, handles trademark maintenance and assists in research in food law related matters. She earned her B.A., magna cum laude, from San Francisco State University in 1987.
