Fennemore has an excellent opportunity for a full-time LEGAL TALENT ACQUISITION SPECIALIST to join our growing firm. This position reports directly to the firm’s Chief Talent Officer. The position is based in our Phoenix, AZ office and is eligible for a hybrid remote work schedule. We will consider applicants in other locations to work remotely and, instead, travel to Phoenix on a regular basis as needed.

The LEGAL TALENT ACQUISITION SPECIALIST is responsible for leading the legal recruiting function across all offices for new associates, lateral associates, and summer associates. The specialist will also collaborate on recruiting partner-level candidates.


• Understand Fennemore and what makes it special and identify ways to amplify those attributes;

• Collaborate with the CTO and firm’s marketing department to develop and implement a marketing strategy for associate recruiting to include value proposition, online brand, recruiting materials, diversity initiatives, and social media channels;

• Manage the firm’s law student recruiting, including coordinating with career services offices, executing outreach events for law schools, attending outreach events, evaluating resumes, and recommending candidates;

• Plan and execute the summer program, provide orientation and introductions, coordinate mentorship program, schedule and attend social events, facilitate assignment tracking, and oversee performance evaluations;

• Collaborate with the CTO and practice group leaders to determine lateral associate hiring needs and best ways to source candidates, review candidate resumes, engage search firms, correspond and communicate with candidates;

• Regularly review recruitment, hiring, and integration processes and recommend modifications that result in better efficiencies; and

• Maintain knowledge of industry best practices impacting the recruitment of attorneys and establish contacts within the legal industry (e.g., professional associations).

Required and Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum of bachelor’s degree in business management, human resources, or another business-oriented field; JD strongly preferred;

• Previous law firm experience; prior experience as a practicing attorney is ideal;

• Understanding of employment laws relating to recruiting and onboarding; prior recruiting experience desirable;

• Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage several projects to completion on a deadline;

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interface with all levels within the firm and externally with candidates, law schools, and vendors;

• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding candidates, firm matters, and recruiting matters; and

• Ability to travel as needed.

Salary: $95,000.00 – $105,000.00 per year
