The fight is won or lost far away from witnesses—behind the lines, in the gym and out there on the road, long before I dance under those lights.

Elizabeth J. Bassett

Based in our Reno office, Liz Bassett practices in the area of business litigation and focuses on assisting businesses and groups with legal issues that arise in the most expeditious way possible. As a business litigator, Liz applies her strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to our clients’ unique issues. Knowing two heads are better than one, this business litigation attorney is also part of an outstanding group of our female attorneys who collaborate and offer mentorship on myriad cases where looking at complex issues from a number of strategic angles helps to ensure rewarding solutions.

With her appellate background, Liz is perhaps most proud of her work in family law matters where she has helped safeguard the rights of her clients amidst the vagaries of opposing attorneys and the courts and judges presiding over the cases. This Reno-based litigator gives back by providing underserved individuals with legal counsel, education and resources in family and civil law matters through her passion project, a pro bono initiative known as “Lawyer In The Library.”

When she is not in the office, you will probably find Liz caring for her young son, or exploring and hiking around Lake Tahoe. She also likes to box, and the intense skill and training required by the sport puts her brain in a different place. And speaking of great minds, Liz is also addicted to detective novels — if she was not a business litigation attorney, she would probably be a police detective.
