Celebrating Our 2025 Summer Associates

From Denver to San Diego, Phoenix to Seattle, our 2025 Summer Associate Program brought together a dynamic group of law students across 10 offices—and what a summer it’s been. Over the course of the program, our summer associates tackled real client work, honed their legal skills through mentorship and training, and formed meaningful connections with colleagues across the firm.

One highlight of the summer included attending Fennemore’s firmwide attorney retreat, where the full summer associate class connected with attorneys from every office and experienced firsthand the energy, collaboration, and people-first culture that define our firm.

As we wrap up this summer, we’re proud to share a few reflections from our 2025 class. In their own words, our summer associates describe what made their time at Fennemore both professionally rewarding and personally impactful.

Professionally Rewarding and Impactful

“As a returning summer associate in Fennemore’s Las Vegas office, I had the chance to reconnect with such an inclusive and welcoming team, while also meeting and working with new colleagues across our offices. The assignments were substantive, important, and directly shaped my professional growth—each one a meaningful opportunity to develop sharp legal writing, critical thinking, and sound judgment. The support from attorneys at every level was unwavering, and the other summer associates were thoughtful and collaborative peers. Overall, Fennemore excels at creating a summer program that is both challenging and genuinely collegial. I look forward to cultivating these relationships and honing the skills I gained during my time here!”

“Returning to Fennemore this summer was both exciting and deeply affirming. It was wonderful to reconnect with familiar faces and strengthen the relationships I built previously, while also getting to know new colleagues at the office. One of the most memorable experiences was attending the all-firm retreat, where I had the opportunity to meet other summer associates and attorneys from across the firm’s offices. It reinforced how forward-thinking, inclusive, and collaborative the Fennemore culture truly is. This summer, I was able to take on meaningful work and engage with attorneys across a range of practice areas, which helped me gain a better idea of the kind of law I hope to pursue in the future.”

“Returning to Fennemore for a second summer was wonderful and I’m deeply grateful to have had this opportunity once more. Every day, I was excited to come into work and dive into my projects. I truly felt like I was given the tools and support to grow and improve as a summer associate. The firm’s collaborative environment meant that, whether I was drafting research memos or attending practical training opportunities, I always had access to attorneys who valued open dialogue and thoughtful feedback. Each interaction reaffirmed that Fennemore’s culture values people just as highly as it values top-tier legal work. The mentorship and learning opportunities I received here sharpened my research and writing skills, prepared me for success, and exemplified the kind of attorney I aspire to be become.”

“My experience as a summer associate at Fennemore has exceeded all of my expectations. I had the opportunity to work on substantive projects across a variety of practice areas, which gave me meaningful insight into many different areas of law. What stood out most was the incredible people I had the chance to work with—attorneys and staff who were not only highly skilled, but also genuinely committed to making this a positive experience. Their openness, support, and investment in my growth had a big impact on my experience. I received thoughtful feedback that helped me become a stronger legal writer and thinker, and I’m leaving the summer feeling more confident, capable, and inspired. I truly could not have asked for a better experience..”

“I not only enjoyed, but thrived, during my summer at Fennemore. The firm is serious about treating every person as a member of a team. Even as a summer associate, I was able to attend the attorneys’ retreat and converse with the CEO and other top lawyers at the firm. After work began, I received excellent feedback from attorney mentors that greatly increased my writing and research capabilities. I was able to meet with clients and even participate in a mock trial program hosted by the firm. If there was a firm set on defining the future rather than focusing on the past, it would be Fennemore!.”

“My summer at Fennemore offered a rare combination of high-caliber legal work and the genuine support of a close-knit team. From the very beginning, I was trusted with substantive assignments and given the opportunity to contribute meaningfully across several practice areas. In just a few months, I’ve deepened my understanding of real-world legal practice and built the confidence that only comes from being challenged and supported in equal measure.

Overall, Fennemore’s Summer Associate Program offered everything I had hoped to find in a law firm experience and left me even more excited about the path ahead!”

“My time at Fennemore this summer has been incredibly rewarding. The summer externship program has provided excellent opportunities to learn through detailed feedback, meaningful mentorship, and substantive assignments. Everyone at the firm has been welcoming, supportive, and approachable, which made a big difference as I navigated my first legal externship. This summer has shown me how special Fennemore’s culture and people truly are, and I cannot wait to return for my 2L summer.”

2025 Attorney Retreat

It’s been especially exciting to see how forward-thinking and innovative the firm is when it comes to the intersection of law and technology.

Malea Parcasio-Eshelman

As someone who attended the retreat just three days after joining the firm, I was genuinely amazed by how welcoming everyone was and by the strong sense of community within the firm—especially across different offices.

Ekpreet Virk

The retreat reaffirmed for me why Fennemore leads—by constantly focusing on people, innovation, and the spirit of adventure.
