Eugene Pak Receives KABANC Alumnus of the Year Award

OAKLAND, Calif., Sept. 14, 2016 – Wendel, Rosen, Black & Dean LLP, the largest law firm in the East Bay representing businesses throughout the region, congratulates Partner Eugene Pak on his recognition as “Alumnus of the Year” by the Korean American Bar Association of Northern California. Pak was honored at KABANC’s annual gala on Sept. 9.

KABANC was founded in the mid-1980s to encourage and promote the professional growth of Korean-American lawyers and law students in Northern California. The organization strives to serve and educate the Korean American community about legal and other issues of interest. The “Alumnus of the Year” award honors a KABANC member who has served as a role model for the Korean American legal community, has offered continuous support for and significant contributions to KABANC and has demonstrated a commitment to service to Korean and other minority legal communities.

“I am honored to receive this award from KABANC,” said Pak. “As a previous KABANC president, I know firsthand how the organization serves the Korean American legal community – with passion, strength and dedication – and I am humbled to be recognized for my contributions.”

Pak focuses his practice in the areas of intellectual property, alcohol beverage law and litigation.  He has represented companies in a wide range of business and commercial matters, including IP disputes, technology licenses and trademarks. Pak also leads the firm’s Craft Breweries & Brew Pubs practice, representing craft breweries and other clients in the alcohol beverage industry on a wide range of issues from entity formation, trademarks and copyrights, distribution and other contracts, employment matters and alcohol beverage and labeling regulations, as well as marketing and advertising issues.

In addition to his membership with the KABANC, Pak is a member of the Asian American Bar Association for the Greater Bay Area, previously serving on the board of directors and as co-chair of the Community Services Committee. He is also a member of the International Association of Korean Lawyers, the International Trademark Association and the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association. Additionally, Pak is a member of the Brewers Association and the California Craft Brewers Association. He earned his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (1993) and his B.A. from the University of Michigan (1989).
