Kaitlyn E. Smith

Kaitlyn Smith is an Associate attorney in our Natural Resources, Energy and Environmental law practice group who works out of our Phoenix office. Her primary focus lies in energy and water matters.  Kaitlyn represents large industrial customers, renewable energy developers, and water and wastewater utilities in matters before the Arizona Corporation Commission.  Currently, she is dedicated to streamlining Arizona’s fragmented water and wastewater industries to enhance the quality of service provided to customers.

Before joining our firm, Kaitlyn handled a diverse range of civil litigation matters, including breach of contract claims, business torts and unfair competition claims, construction law disputes, defamation or reputation disputes, and lender liability or financing disputes. She has represented and advised companies, government agencies, and individuals in complex commercial litigation, civil rights, administrative, and investment dispute law matters.

Outside of the office, Kaitlyn unwinds through activities such as reading, baking, and playing with her dog Millie.  With 15 countries under her belt, Kaitlyn has a passion for traveling.  Some of her past adventures include studying abroad in Italy, participating in a service trip to Guatemala, and conducting sustainable fisheries research in the Bahamas.
