Peyton Howe

Peyton Howe is an employment and labor attorney in Fennemore’s San Antonio office, representing management in all areas of labor and employment law in both federal and state courts. She counsels employers on workplace compliance, policy development, and dispute resolution, and defends businesses in litigation involving discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage and hour claims across Texas.

Before focusing her practice on labor and employment law, Peyton gained significant trial and courtroom experience, as a criminal and family law attorney, by regularly appearing in court, advising clients, and preparing for hearings and trials. She sat second chair in both misdemeanor and felony trials, assisting with voir dire, witness examination, and trial strategy—experience that gives her a strong foundation for handling complex employment litigation.

While earning her law degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law, Peyton served as a judicial intern to Administrative Judge Brett Sell at the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), where she drafted judicial orders and analyzed employment discrimination claims. She also served as a teaching assistant for legal writing, mentored first-generation law students, and completed more than 200 hours of pro bono service, including voter registration work with MOVE Texas in Bexar County.

During law school, Peyton simultaneously earned her MBA from St. Mary’s University Greehey School of Business, equipping her with a strong understanding of both business operations and employment regulations. She graduated summa cum laude from Illinois Wesleyan University, where she was a member of the women’s varsity soccer team and received the Weir Fellowship for community-focused grant work. As an undergraduate, she also gained early legal experience as a legal intern at Mueller, Reece & Hinch, LLC, drafting estate planning documents and assisting with client matters.

Prior to joining Fennemore, Peyton was an associate at Schmoyer Reinhard LLP, a San Antonio-based firm specializing in labor and employment, construction, and business litigation. She also worked as both a student attorney and associate attorney at The Castro Law Office, PLLC, where she represented clients in criminal and family law matters throughout Bexar County and surrounding areas.
