Shannon D. Sweeney
Shannon D. Sweeney is a litigator and trial attorney with a focus on class action litigation, complex corporate litigation, and large commercial disputes. With creative litigation strategy and advocacy, empathetic guidance, and tenacious courtroom representation, she has defended class actions in state and federal courts across various industries, handling suits related to products liability, mislabeling and false representation claims, pharmaceutical and medical device defects, unfair competition, securities fraud, breach of contract, and statutory noncompliance issues (including defending landlords against claims of security deposit mishandling and improper late charges). Her clients have ranged from publicly traded companies, large landlords and property managers, and construction companies, to individuals and companies embroiled in employment, contractual, and management disputes.
Shannon also has appellate experience in California state and federal courts, including successfully arguing at the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She is honored to be a long-standing faculty member and Program Director for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, teaching courses in both trial and deposition skills.
