ABOUT OUR SPEAKER
Amy Rein Worth serves as the current Chair of the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC ). Created by the state Legislature in 1970 (California Government Code § 66500 et seq.), the MTC is the transportation planning, coordinating and financing agency for the nine-county San Francisco Bay Area. Over the years, the agency’s scope has grown, and it is now three agencies in one, functioning as MTC, as well as the Bay Area Toll Authority (BATA) and the Service Authority for Freeways and Expressways (SAFE).
Ms. Worth was first appointed to MTC’s governing board in 2007, served as vice chair from 2012 to 2013 and was elected to her two-year term as chair in 2013. For additional information about MTC, visit www.mtc.ca.gov. In addition , she has served on the Orinda City Council since 1998, with terms as mayor in 2000, 2005 and 2013. Worth is a former chair and current ex-officio member of the Contra Costa Transportation Authority and a board member of the County Connection Transit Authority and the California Council of Governments.
