Cole Woodward

Cole Woodward is an attorney with Fennemore whose practice focuses on construction law, business litigation, and regulatory matters in Colorado. Drawing on his background in operations management and business leadership, Cole provides practical legal solutions for contractors, developers, municipalities, and businesses in the construction and real estate industries. His experience includes contract disputes, civil rights litigation, regulatory compliance, and advising clients on complex government and policy issues.

Before joining Fennemore, Cole served as General Counsel for the Colorado Department of Public Safety, where he advised state law enforcement and emergency management agencies on regulatory, litigation, and policy matters. He also led a team of litigators in the Corrections Unit of the Colorado Department of Law, managing civil rights litigation, sensitive investigations, and policy development.

Cole’s career includes representing municipalities, nonprofits, and private clients in complex litigation, including Section 1983 defense. Prior to his legal practice, he managed operations in the building materials and office furniture industries, giving him first-hand insight into the challenges faced by construction companies and businesses in the built environment. This combination of legal skill and operational experience allows Cole to deliver solutions that are both legally sound and aligned with real-world business needs.
