Wendel Rosen Bolsters Trusts and Estates and Construction Practices with Trio of New Attorneys

OAKLAND, Calif., Dec. 15, 2015 – Wendel, Rosen, Black & Dean LLP, one of the largest law firms in the East Bay representing businesses throughout the region, welcomes Jeffery B. Levi and M. Brooke Wilson to its Trusts and Estates Practice Group and Quinlan S. Tom to its Construction Practice Group. The Oakland, Calif.-based firm’s latest of nine attorney additions in 2015, the trio of attorneys brings the firm to a total of 67 attorneys.

Levi, who joins the firm from Roisman Henel LLP in Oakland, is certified by the California State Bar Board of Legal Specialization as a specialist in probate, estate planning and trust law. Working with clients to plan and structure their estates, Levi’s experience includes preparing revocable trusts, irrevocable generational trusts, wills, durable powers of attorney and advance health care directives. Also handling corporate and transactional matters, Levi advises on general business issues, including company formation, counseling family-owned entities, preparing buy-sell agreements, and advising on major transactions. He has substantial experience working with nonprofit organizations on a variety of legal issues. Levi serves on the Board of Directors of East Bay Trusts & Estates Lawyers and is a member of the State Bar of California, East Bay Tax Club and East Bay Estate Planning Council. He earned his J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law (2000) and his B.A. from Pomona College (1991).

Wilson, also from Roisman Henel, focuses on estate planning, trust and estate administration, and federal estate and gift taxation. Also a State Bar Board certified specialist in probate, estate planning and trust law, Wilson advises clients on all aspects of estate planning, including guiding clients with family-owned businesses on succession planning, assisting with philanthropic goals, and preparing plans for traditional, non-traditional and blended families. Wilson will serve as the 2016 chair of the Estate Planning & Administration Committee of East Bay Trusts & Estates Lawyers and on the Board of Directors of the Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society. She is a member of the East Bay Estate Planning Council, East Bay Tax Club and Bay Area Lawyers for Individual Freedom (BALIF). Admitted to practice in California, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, she earned her J.D. (2006) and LL.M. in Taxation (2008) from Temple University, Beasley School of Law, and her B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley (2000).

Most recently with McInerney & Dillon in Oakland, Tom has more than 25 years of experience representing private and public owners, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, developers, architects, construction managers and other professionals in all aspects of construction litigation, including claims stemming from extra work; delay and disruption; performance and payment bonds; potential false claims liability; fee disputes; negligence; mechanic’s lien; and public works bid protests. He represents his clients throughout the construction process, from pre-construction contract drafting and negotiations through litigation. Tom also represents clients in general business litigation and labor and employment law. He is a former board member of Lafayette Partners in Education. Tom earned his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law (1989) and his B.A. from the University of California, Davis (1986).
