Wendel Rosen’s Sidney A. Israels Appointed to UC Merced Foundation Board of Trustees

Sidney A. Israels, a real estate and business partner with Wendel Rosen LLP, the largest law firm in the East Bay representing businesses throughout the state, has recently been appointed to the UC Merced Foundation Board of Trustees.

Founded in 2000, the UC Merced Foundation Board of Trustees is a volunteer fundraising board that helps to promote and increase private philanthropic support, advocates for the university, and manages a portion of the university’s endowment. Trustees include business and community leaders from across the state and nation who serve a three-year appointment to provide the university with key relationships in all areas of government, commerce, education and society.

“UC Merced continues to grow and develop, and the Board of Trustees has continued to make a powerful impact on the school and its students,” said Israels. “I am thrilled for this opportunity to play a small role in in shaping the University’s future, and I look forward to engaging with the Board, students and administration toward this end.”

Israels has extensive experience in real estate, business and regulatory matters, representing a range of clients including title insurers and agents, healthcare providers, transportation logistic businesses, food processors, agribusinesses, real estate investors and venture capitalists. He has worked with both start-ups and established companies in negotiating and closing complex business deals including mergers, acquisitions, share and asset purchases, joint ventures and private placements. Israels is also a member of the Bay Area Council Transportation Committee, California Land Title Association, American Land Title Association and the State Bar of California. He earned his J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles (1969) and his B.A. from the University of California, Berkley (1965).
