Firm Adds Three Attorneys and Broadens East Bay Land Use and Real Estate Footprint
OAKLAND, Calif., May 4, 2016 – Wendel, Rosen, Black & Dean LLP, the largest law firm in the East Bay representing businesses throughout the region, welcomes Allan Moore and Amara Morrison as partners in its Land Use Practice, and Katie Ferrier as an attorney in its Real Estate Practice. Both Moore and Morrison were previously in private practice in Danville, Calif., and Ferrier joins after serving as corporate counsel at The Gap, Inc.

Moore focuses on land use and real estate law, advising clients on residential development projects, subdivisions, environmental review and approval, and permitting. With nearly 30 years of experience and having previously served as in-house counsel for Chevron in its land department, Moore orchestrates complex land use approvals. He also has substantial experience representing Contra Costa County municipalities, including planning commissions and city councils, and he served on the planning commission for the City of Walnut Creek for 14 years. Moore is a member of the Contra Costa and Alameda County Bar Associations, and he earned his J.D. from the University of San Diego (1979) and his B.A. from the University of California, Davis (1976).
Morrison has 26 years of experience serving Contra Costa public sector clients with regard to land use, zoning, development and redevelopment, environmental law, and resource protection and conservation. Prior to private practice, she was assistant city attorney for Livermore and Walnut Creek. Entrenched in a variety of East Bay professional and community organizations, Morrison is the secretary on the Save Mount Diablo board of directors and a member of the Bay Area Equestrian Club’s board of directors. She is a member of the Contra Costa, Alameda and Eastern Alameda County Bar Associations. Morrison earned a J.D. and Masters of Environmental Law Studies, magna cum laude, from Vermont Law School (1987) and a B.S., with an emphasis on natural resources, from the University of Michigan (1983).
With more than 10 years of experience in real estate law, Ferrier handles a wide variety of commercial real estate transactional work, focusing on commercial leasing, as well as the sale and acquisition of commercial property. She joins Wendel Rosen after having served as in-house counsel for The Gap, Inc., where she was a Director for the Retail Leasing Group. Her extensive leasing experience includes the representation of retail, office, industrial and agricultural clients. Prior to joining The Gap, Inc., Ferrier was an associate with Morrison & Foerster LLP’s Real Estate Group. She is a member of the Alameda County and San Francisco Bar Associations, as well as the International Council of Shopping Centers. She holds her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (2005) and her B.S., magna cum laude, from the University of California, San Diego (1999).
