Lisa Faye Petak is an Of Counsel attorney in Fennemore’s Trust & Estates practice group, where she specializes in trust and estate litigation. From investigation to mediation or trial, Lisa guides beneficiaries, trustees, and professional fiduciaries through every phase of the trust and probate litigation process. In addition to her T&E work, Lisa’s practice also includes real estate litigation and, in particular, residential and commercial landlord-tenant advising and dispute resolution.

Lisa has over 10 years of experience in the legal industry. Prior to joining Fennemore, she was a litigation associate at Mullen & Henzell L.L.P., where she defended depositions, argued motions and petitions, and represented her clients at mediations and bench trials across Ventura, Santa Barbara, and Los Angeles Counties. She also litigated plaintiff-side consumer and environmental class actions with a Seattle-based firm and served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Otis. Wright II of the United States District Court, Central District of California.

Lisa earned her law degree from the University of California, Irvine School of Law. There, she was awarded Best Advocate in the UC Irvine School of Law Moot Court Competition, served as President of the Student Bar Association, and graduated with Pro Bono High Honors in recognition of the over 200 hours of pro bono service she provided during law school. Lisa also served as a summer law clerk for the American Civil Liberties Union, first with its Colorado affiliate and then with the Reproductive Freedom Project at the ACLU National headquarters in New York City. She remains an active member of her alma mater’s alumni association and is the current litigation Chair for the Santa Barbara County Bar Association.

During her free time, Lisa enjoys cooking and baking, exploring Santa Barbara’s coastline, and spending time with her husband and two young children. As a former figure skater, she also laces up her skates whenever she can.
