Wendel Rosen’s Zack Wasserman Honored with Jobs and Housing Coalition 2019 Legacy Event Award

Wendel Rosen LLP Real Estate and Land Use Partner R. Zachary Wasserman has been honored by the Jobs and Housing Coalition with the 2019 Legacy Event Award, presented Thursday, September 19 at the organization’s annual Legacy Event.

The Award stated: “Thank you for believing in Oakland and lighting the way for others to follow. You are a true trailblazer, mentor, and role model. Your leadership is greatly appreciated.”

The Jobs and Housing Coalition is a non-profit corporation consisting of senior executives of major, Oakland-based companies working to create better jobs, quality housing and new commerce to advance the City’s continued development. The Legacy Event honors trailblazing regional businesses and civic leaders. Wasserman was recognized alongside Art Shanks, CEO of Cypress Mandela Training Center, and Jim Wunderman, President and CEO of the Bay Area Council.

“The Coalition has a rich history of helping enhance and further economic development in Oakland through supporting both badly needed housing at all levels and jobs for Oaklanders. said Wasserman. “Being a part of the development of our city is something I take great pride in, and it’s an honor to be recognized as a leader in the City’s revitalization.”

In his legal practice, Wasserman focuses on transportation issues, real estate and land use, and nonprofit organizations. He negotiates and drafts complex real estate and financial structures on behalf of private businesses and public agencies and works with state and local regulatory permitting agencies to carry out high-profile Bay Area real estate projects. He is currently chair of the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission and the Oakland Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Wasserman received his J.D. from Stanford University School of Law (1972) and his B.A. from the University of California, Santa Cruz (1969).
