Travis K. Riley
Travis Riley is a construction attorney and trial lawyer in Fennemore’s Construction practice group, representing contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, owners, and developers in complex construction and commercial disputes. He advises clients across the state and in Texas on legal challenges that arise at every phase of a construction project — from contract drafting and negotiation to litigation in state and federal courts.
Travis handles a broad range of construction law matters, including mechanic’s liens, construction defect claims, breach of contract disputes, payment and delay claims, public works and government contract issues, business torts, partnership disputes, contractor terminations, and design and change order conflicts. He represents clients in mediation, arbitration, and trial, and has secured favorable outcomes before judges, juries, and arbitrators in Colorado and Texas. His experience in high-stakes construction litigation positions him as a trusted advocate for companies operating in the commercial construction industry.
In addition to his litigation practice, Travis serves as outside counsel to construction businesses, drafting and negotiating construction contracts that protect client interests and reduce risk. He regularly works with industry-standard agreements and custom contracts, helping clients proactively address scope, payment terms, scheduling, indemnity, and dispute resolution provisions. His integrated approach to construction contract law and dispute resolution allows him to deliver practical, business-focused guidance tailored to the needs of general contractors, trade contractors, and project stakeholders.
Travis is a Fellow of the Construction Lawyers Society of America, a national invitation-only organization recognizing leading construction attorneys. He also serves as attorney’s council for the American Subcontractors Association of Colorado and is an instructor at the Construction Mastery Institute, where he educates construction professionals on legal risk management and best practices in the industry.
