Alameda County Bar Association Honors Wendel Rosen with Distinguished Service Award

OAKLAND, Calif., Feb. 5, 2019 – Wendel, Rosen, Black & Dean LLP, the largest law firm in the East Bay representing businesses throughout the Bay Area and state, received the Law Firm Distinguished Service Award from the Alameda County Bar Association (ACBA) for its long-standing support for and commitment to the organization. The firm was honored at the ACBA’s 2019 Installation and Award Dinner on January 24.

The ACBA Distinguished Service Award recognizes law firms, organizations and individuals committed to supporting the professional organization in a variety of volunteer/pro bono capacities. Among other involvements, Wendel Rosen actively volunteers through Legal Access Alameda (formerly known as VLSC) and generously donates on an annual basis to ensure legal services are provided to those who cannot afford them.

“Wendel Rosen has been a longtime partner with the ACBA, and we are honored to receive this award,” said C. Gregg Ankenman, partner and chair of the firm’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Committee. “Through years of leading by example, the partners at Wendel Rosen have developed a strong firm culture where involvement in the local bar association is not only encouraged but expected. This culture has a profound impact on the success and development of the ACBA, the legal community at large and our lawyers’ individual professional development and fulfillment. Our continued involvement is truly a ‘win-win-win.’

Wendel Rosen has been an ACBA “Leadership Firm” since the program’s inception, a commitment that supports the local legal community by recognizing law firms of 10 or more lawyers where every lawyer maintains ACBA membership. In addition, firm attorneys have served on the ACBA’s Board of Directors, the Judicial Appointments Evaluations Committee and 15 different Section Executive Committees. Wendel Rosen Partners Christine K. Noma and Richard P. Waxman have also received the ACBA Individual Lawyer Distinguished Service Award in 2014 and 2007, respectively.
